Ukraine to Introduce Official Bill on Tax Exemption Policies

According to Ukrainian media, the products exempt from customs duties and VAT include:

Steam turbines (excluding turbines used in ship propulsion systems)

Inverters (excluding inverter soldering machines)

Lithium-ion batteries (excluding storage devices with AC and DC capacities less than 300 W and individual lithium-ion batteries with capacities less than 200 Ah)

Solar panels

Generator sets with piston engines (excluding generator sets for civil aviation)

Gas turbines

Electrical machinery and equipment with built-in power sources

Electric motors and generators with capacities over 750 kVA (excluding electric generator sets)

Control panels and distribution boards for current control or distribution (excluding those for automobiles)

Components of wind turbine generator sets

Hydroelectric turbines and their components

Spur gears and helical gears

Spark-ignition internal combustion engines and compression ignition internal combustion engines

Transformers, static converters, and inductors

Consoles, panels, control desks, tables, cabinets, and other bases for electrical equipment

Wires, cables, and other conductors

Binoculars, monoculars, and other optical devices

Surveying tools and others

To prevent a power grid collapse, Ukrainian authorities have implemented rolling blackouts nationwide. Recent high temperatures have increased electricity demand, making the grid more precarious. In the capital, Kyiv, most buildings are now experiencing power outages for at least 10 hours a day.

According to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, restoring energy capacity before the start of the heating season is a top priority on the government’s agenda.

There has been a surge in demand for photovoltaic storage products in Ukraine. Currently, these products are primarily flowing into the Ukrainian market through distribution channels in neighboring countries such as Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary.
